Presbyterian Women

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit
ourselves:

•to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
•to support the mission of the church worldwide,
•to work for justice and peace, and
•to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Church and
witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.

With a history of more than 200 years, over 300,000 women currently live out these
Presbyterian Women commitments at all levels of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) -- in
congregations, presbyteries and synods as well as General Assembly.

At Stephenson Presbyterian Church, women are engaged in teaching weekly Church
School and attending Bible Study, gathering monthly for fellowship and faith-building
Horizons Bible study, leading annual Vacation Bible School, and encouraging each other
as we develop and maintain lives of faithful witness to the love of Christ.

PW supports all missions of the church with financial resources and hands-on service,
working for justice and peace through support of our local food bank, homeless shelter,
women’s shelter and five-cents-a-meal hunger action program, and by participating in
mission projects such as Operation Christmas Child and Presbyterian Disaster Relief
Health Kits preparation. Always open to new missions, PW is especially interested in
service to children.

Stephenson Presbyterian women are Elders and leaders in all areas of the church,
working together to serve God and others. We build caring community by praying for and
loving each other as Christ first loved us, supporting each other through life’s changes.
We are inclusive in welcoming and assisting all who seek God’s love and provision. In
everything we do, Stephenson Presbyterian women seek to live by God’s Word and be led
by our Lord Jesus Christ and be open to the fresh wind of the Holy Spirit.
