Missions

There are two major concerns that Stephenson works to address: children and hunger.
The following are on-going programs of the church in addition to our responding to
national and international relief efforts through the PC(USA).

Samaritan Purse’s Operation Christmas Child
The Heifer Project
Project ReachOut
Five Cents A Meal
Monroe Community Homeless Shelter
Turning Point (Ministries) for Women and Children

Local Emergency Relief Aid
Stephenson believes we must respond to the basic needs of local residents as well as
the long term concerns of the world.  We provide assistance with food, rent, power bills
and other emergencies of life.

Children’s Outreach
This program provides monthly assistance to two ‘adoptive’ children in nations around
the world.  Each year members of the church contribute to the basic living needs of two
children.  They share themselves as well as their financial resources as they write to the
children and families they support throughout the year.

New Ministries

Stephenson will begin on March 18 to be a collection point for food donations from the
community.  As we all know, hunger is more of a problem today than for generations in
America.

We will be working with neighboring churches to develop a distribution plan to be
launched in the very near future to share the food gifts with those in need, right here
along Rocky River Rd.

In the Fall of 2010, we will offer Personal Financial Training for people in our
community.  Watch our web page and other advertising forms for more info on the free
information meetings.

SUPPORT UNION COUNTY SCHOOLS
As people concerned about children, Stephenson Church is meeting with local school
leaders to identify ways we can contribute to the success of our teachers and the
education of our children.  If you have ideas, or know of specific needs, please let us
know so we may respond.  And you are welcome to come work with us.
